It’s official – the rankings are out. No, NOT the BCS rankings (that’s a WHOLE other story – don’t even get me started on that Cartel)

The Top 50 Website Rankings. Predictably, Google is #1, followed by Yahoo, Microsoft, and AOL.

Coming in at #5 is a little site you might be familiar with called Facebook.

We all use Facebook – I guess this is what explains the #5 ranking. But are you using Facebook to build your business?

What Kind Of A Home Business Leader Are You?

Have you ever heard of a “grenade jumper”?  You’ve probably seen war movies or television programs that had a “grenade jumper” scene.
 
Basically, the idea is a group of soldiers are packed together in a confined area, a grenade is lobbed in, and one of the soldiers dives onto the grenade, using his body to contain the blast, sacrificing himself, but saving the lives of his comrades.
 
Usually, the “grenade jumper” is the group’s leader.
 
So what does this have to do with home business ownership?  Maybe nothing. Or, maybe EVERYTHING.

Are You A Beaten Monkey Marketer?

Have you ever heard of the Beaten Monkey Syndrome? (or Beaten Dog…either one)
 
Beaten Monkey Syndrome is a rather peculiar malady whereby a monkey who is routinely mistreated, beaten, tormented in various ways, will actually cling MORE TIGHTLY to its tormentor.
 
This syndrome has been used to explain why women will ferociously defend abusive husbands/boyfriends.
 
We’ve all heard those stories. “We all know you didn’t just fall down the stairs. Why don’t you just leave him?”
 
Why indeed. The reason?  The Beaten Monkey Syndrome.
